How Do Hearing Aids Work?

A hearing aid helps to amplify noises so that a person with hearing loss can hear more effectively. It is comprised of a microphone, speaker and amplifier. 1/5 people who benefit from a hearing aid do not wear one. Essentially, the microphone picks up sound waves and converts them into electric signals which are then sent into an amplifier which amplifies these signals and sends them through the speaker and into the ear. These signals are more easily picked up by the ear which greatly benefits people with hearing loss.
